Another mask. This one is part inspired by another mask I saw on the internet and part inspired by a dress (indeed the dress that is wearing in this picture)
By far the most demanding of any of the masks I've made thus far.
Named Victoria as the dress that inspired it was a Victoriana piece ([link] )
This particular mask ate scalpel blades for breakfast, I think it used 3 seperate blades by the time I was finish but I'm quite pleased with the result.
Decided on a simple paint job, to match the dress. As you can see from the top pics the initial varnish was a lot more glossy and reflective but this dried to a sticky finish and I wasn't comfortable with the idea of somebody wearing it. Therefore a lot white spirits later, and some re-varnishing with a more matt varnish solved that problem.

Being more hole than mask I glue-soaked this piece adding some PVA to hot water right at the moulding stage. This gives it a little bit more rigidity and helps it keep shape.
