I especially like how the Akira's catamarans protect her bridge from side attacks. She was designed by Alex Jaeger. The catamarans sit higher than the bridge, placing it in a protected "pocket".

One of a few ships where not have the bridge on deck 1. I like the akira. Is one of the best design for starfleet ships.
