In the late 24 Century, the USS Euderion follows an emergency call from an federation transport which has seen an immense destruction machine, which killed a whole planet.First fears it could be the Borg could not be confirmed, but that should be no reason for a sigh of relief. A Doomsday Machine is back...
Captain Ellen Delia and her Crew develop a plan based on the maneuver, Captain Kirk itself has applied around 100 years before. So they try to fire a massive energy blast from the deflector into the mouth of the Doomsday Machine.

Reading TNG book Armageddon's Arrow.
The crew of the Enterprise-E Β discover a massive ship that has travelled back in time on a mission of genocide (in order to stop an interplanetary war before it begins), but missed it's destination when the crew failed to revive from hibernation. Β The ship is a giant planet killer, basically an engine attached to a cannon. Β Picard sends a small team to investigate the weapon ships origin point, and discovers that the aliens have copied the tech of a crashed Doomsday Machine that they have found.
That's as far as I've got.
Picard recalls the events of the giant sized novel Vendetta.

The Doomsday Machine or Planet Killer was made to fight the Borg because of the Neutronium hull and anti-Proton beam it had.
