Description Very often we see the D'deridex Warbird fires his disruptors and Torpedos from the front dish in their nose. Especially in Deep Space Nine, this seems the main weapon array. But designer Andrew Probert who creates the Warbird for TNG does not wanted it as weapons array but as deflector dish. So, i show how it should be.

I've wondered "where's the deflector then"?Β  but given that Romulan ships are powered by an artificial black hole- maybe debris gets sucked into it rather than pushed away- at least I've thought so

NICE!

But firing torpedoes from the nose at the same time would have been interesting. But that is a minor thing.Β

Actually i dont know were the topedo launcher is on the D'deridex Warbird. Yes, we saw them firing from the nose, but in this image i wanted to show, how designer Andrew Probert wanted, that the front dish is the main deflector, not a weapon array.

Kind of stole that name from the prison in 40k. Their gargants have a gaze of Mork.

Technically what is represented in the TV shows is moreΒ logical. Just like Klingons and Ferengi, any disruptor kind of weapon cannot be distributed in form of phased beam.

Nicely done as always. New (well...old) take on the issue,Β but I prefer disruptor charges.

In the TV Shows we see both from romulans. Beams and charges. I just wanted to show here, that the main weapon array of the warbird is not the dish in the nose.

Great ship.Β  With all that open space I always imaged they used it as a dock for smaller ships.Β  I know that is not the case but there is just so much room in there.
Thank you for sharing.

I always just assumed the Romulans used the same emitter for both, since hey why waste a large energy emitter by making it NOT a weapon?

There was a interview with Andrew Probert about some of his creations he does for Star Trek, and he says he never wanted the dish as weapons platform. But the CGI Team dont know this.

I always did find it strange how all the fire from the D'Deridex class seemed to come from that one point on the ship. Seemed like a major weakness.Β
