Its a sad day not only for Star Trek Fans but also for the lovers of Science Fiction and Fantasy. Rarely a figure like his Mr. Spock has had such an impact on culture. He was a great actor, photographer, poet, director and a lovely man.I met him once when he come to germany and he was an awesome character. I'm normally not someone who mourns at the death of a celebrity, but Leonard Nimoy's death gives me the feeling as if I had lost a part of my family.

Ja, er war auf einer der frühen Fed Cons. Ich glaube auf der Fed Con 7. Ist schon ein weilchen her. Da hatte er auch erklärt, das er sich lange Zeit geweigert hat nach Deutschland zu kommen.

I've spent today trying to process this news, and it just won't fit in my head, like a puzzle piece left in the wrong puzzle box. Only tonight, as I wander deviantART and see the beautiful tributes, is it sinking in. Only now am I starting to cry.
All honor to Leonard Nimoy, his works and his memory, the lives he touched and the legacy he left us; and courage, courage to us all.

I think there are many of us that feel that way. Not just fans of Star Trek, though they may feel it more deeply, but even some of the other character roles he played in other fiction fandoms such as Transformers feel the loss.

The positive thing i was able to observe; all fandoms have laid aside their disputes. I see fandom site from Lord of the rings, Aliens, Walking Dead, and even Star Trek's long time rival Star Wars who post their condolences for this great man.

Crumbs when did he pass by I have heard nothing from the radio and tv news.I agree some celebs we love and adore and love supporting/following them greatly is a sad affair for the dedicated fan(s). I was not a fan of Leonard's but I believe he was a great actor, may he find peace and tranquillity in his resting place and join the actors above us in heaven. Condolences to his family.

He was long time sick from a lung suffer. He was in Hospital last week because of breast pain and comes home at Friday morning where he died.
