You know, I drew too much of Xelloss-Zelgadiss couple (X+Z outnumbered Z+L...). So this time, I chose Gourry+Xelloss XD
In this pic, Gourry's a forgotten crown prince, and Xelloss is a confined wise in an AU background.
This may be related to the part 2 of future Phoenix story...

Man I don't know who I like better: Gourry or Xelloss... Way back when Slayers came out on DVD I was obsessed with Xel, and now I'm starting to like Gourry just as much ._. They're both so adorable and crazy!...well suped up Gourry is crazy when he's under Phibrizzo's control. Pratically invincible...like Xelloss X)!

the manga and the anime are very different . . . the manga is funny, but the anime (other than being very low budget) is depressing and angsty and stuff. I like both though . . .

Thank you. Mixing 'Hlight' with watercolor effects and two layers enables me to do that ^^

It's absolutely gorgeous! Even though Zel and Lina are my favorite couple (and as far as the male couples go, I gotta' go with Xel/Zel), I love the coupling choice in this one! It's very interesting! You can totally see the desire in Gourry!

Ahahaha Actually I've seen a lot of Gourry seme yaoi fanfics (esp Japanese)...Gourry Uke fics are rare, though XD

Yeah, I have a job now, though not the best. nn; I'm a half-hour short of fulltime and if they just made me fulltime, even though I'd be working taht extra bit of time, I'd have more energy just because I wouldn't be worrying about getting hired. It's sad because I like having energy to draw and post stuff, since that makes me happy.

I'm trying to just work on more art while tired, just because even though it gets me worn out, the stress relief makes it worth it. Working with fandom always gives me a sort of energy anyways, and makes me happy. So I'm staying afloat!

Also having fun reading over teh comments on this piece when I can, to get hints at Phoenix Fairy Tale chapter 2! It's making me excited. I like the kind of relationship-but-not-pairing that seems to be arising from what I've seen thus far. All in all I think Phoenix Fairy Tale is the best AU I've seen for Slayers, the themes and character dynamics really excite me. The character designs and art are of course wonderful, but I'm happiest when a comic has a good story to go with good art, and that's what this has.

...See, now that I'm at home and mustered up the energy to type, I got to say some of what I wanted about it. X3;;;

Thank you for long reply! Hope you get the best full-time job you expect #^^# I understand that feeling, since I was in the similar situation a few years ago. (And now, too Xp ) But yes, you're right. Fandom is one of the most powerful source of energy. I can't imagine how I have lived without knowing Slayers ^_^;;

Yep Xel looked like a just onlooker in Part 1, but actually he'll become actively involved in Part 2--I'm not sure if I will divide it into two parts(Part 2 and Part3) yet...But if I do, Part3 will be definitely the story of Xel's background, forgotten memory in Gourry's mind. ^w^
