Description This is Decarbiel, a daemon and potential protagonist of the #nanowrimo story I may or may not end up writing. I have been working on his more human form for a week or two, and last night I thought it would be fun to show him fully daemonic. This is the result! Hopefully a render of his alternate appearance will come together soon as well.

The first person I showed this to thought it looked like a statue honouring a Slaaneshi daemon, and he imagined a little group of worshipful cultists gathered beneath it. I think this picture can be whatever you want it to be. Providing you want it to be some sort of depiction of a sexy(?) male daemon.

GERMAN SCIENCE IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyxOXj…

Sorry, I couldn't resist it, the pose reminded me of that moment. So is he a Slaneeshi daemon? Really cool work buddy, specially in the bug like helmet. Did you sculpt all the details in the armour? That's some work you put in there, I tried zbrush the other but I couldn't do anything, 3D is weird to me for now

Ha ha! He does have a slightly JoJo Villain look to him. I bought the 'armour' and just made some changes to the textures. It might be interesting to get into that level of sculpting at some point, but for now I am happy to just play with toys other people have made. I am sure you could get used to 3D quickly if you had some time. DAZ is pretty easy, really.

Oh really cool, yeah if I had some time I'd get into 3D, but for now I should stick to improving 2D with the little time I have, I better keep on doing small tutorials.

Indeed, when you only have a little bit of time it is best to stick to one thing (especially if that is what you enjoy most)!

This is great The stone-like texture is very nice, particularly on the chest and face. I like the way his clothing (if it is clothing) appears to be growing on him.

Thanks! I think the outfit probably has grown on him... It may be best not to think about it too much, though.

I really like what you have done with the clothing here and how you adapted it texture-wise, so it looks like a part of his body now. I think, my only criticism would be the tail texture and the horn texture as well, but then I think, you wanted it to look metallic. I have no idea about this creature, so I am sure you did the right thing.

Euskelo In reply to Mavrosh [2014-10-22 20:29:30 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for your comment! I do like the metallic texture, and I do not. I tried a lot of different textures and found this one worked best, but it is certainly not perfect. I appreciate the feedback, and very much the constructive criticism!

Mavrosh In reply to Euskelo [2014-10-22 20:30:47 +0000 UTC]

Oh, the texture itself is not bad, I just wonder why he is having metallic horns and tail, this is all. It just breaks to overall flow of his apperance but then, he is not my creature and you will have a good reason for those to be metallic.

Euskelo In reply to Mavrosh [2014-10-22 20:38:45 +0000 UTC]

Of course, I could make something up, but in truth I thought it looked interesting. On the other hand, I would like to keep looking for a texture that works better with the overall appearance. I am sure there is something else that would look interesting whilst also being more natural... If we can say that about a daemon...

I love those shaders here: www.daz3d.com/metalized-glass-…
There is a fuge aged looking shaders which might really compliment this guy, one is called "antique mirror" and the other one I love is the aged chronme one but I forgot how exactly it is called. Those could really go with his appearance and are metallic at the same time.

Look at this guys bracelets:

Thoe have been made with this set of shaders. You will love it in case you buy it!

Euskelo In reply to Mavrosh [2014-10-22 20:53:47 +0000 UTC]

Oh, yes! I bought those when they were on sale a while ago. I was afraid I had been extravagant, but I love them so much. Especially the antique mirror and aged chrome! The effect is great on Raeh's jewellery.

I did try them on the horns and tail, but was not sure about the effect. I will take another look. Thank you for the suggestion.

Hahaha, okay! If you want more options, I can also highly reccommend the new metal shaders for DAZ by parrotdolphin . They are brand new in the Renso store.

Nice! He IS a sexy male daemon, nad of course I'm curious on how youve done this - it looks really cool. Love the texture; not quite rock, not quite skin, but closer to skin anyway... difficult to describe

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Euskelo In reply to Dunderhonung [2014-10-20 15:53:36 +0000 UTC]

He is a mystery wrapped in an enigma. What could he possibly be trying to express with this pose?

I just messed about with the original textures of his skin and the... accoutrements until I got the sort of look I wanted. As always, lighting is the key.

Dunderhonung In reply to Euskelo [2014-10-20 19:33:52 +0000 UTC]

That he's got a headache and needs to go to the bathroom at the same time? Pain and suffering, in other words

The texture looks really cool, love it. And why am I not surprised that lighting is the key ingredient?

Euskelo In reply to Dunderhonung [2014-10-20 19:38:53 +0000 UTC]

Heh heh. I believe he is more of a pain and pleasure kind of guy.

I am looking forward to doing more pictures with him. The posing will be fun!

Dunderhonung In reply to Euskelo [2014-10-20 19:49:51 +0000 UTC]

Ah, pain and pleasure, the best combination of feelings. Like when you have a mosquito bite and you scratch until it bleed. And then you keep scratchng it, until you look like you've caught some strange skindisease, just because of that combination of feelings
...and as usual, this turned out weirder than intended...
I like the pose, I want ot go up to him and touch that chest even though I know I shouldn't. He looks like he's not aware of the audience, even though I'm sure he is.

He would love you to touch him, anywhere you want.

This is true. You can always make a living sketching people in some public place. The great thing is that you would be able to take hundreds of customers a day because you are also remarkably quick at turning out these masterpieces.
