Playing the angel isn't so easy where you're from.This is a new character I have been working on: Kharybdis. The image is a sort of companion piece for Amhran Comhrac (below) as these two characters knew each other and fought side by side for a time. They have a lot of history (and perhaps some future together, too).
Kharybdis is a Dark Eldar, born and bred in the Dark City, Commorragh. Skilled as he is with the intrigues and machinations of his kind, he has ambitions beyond climbing the treacherous ladders of power only to one day be stabbed in the back by someone younger and hungrier. His plans lie beyond Commorragh entirely, but escaping its clutches is none too easy...

I hope to keep improving with each character I make (with some inevitable backward steps) so hopefully in a year or two this guy will not be as good as the new ones. For now, I am definitely pretty happy.

Nice pose ! I just had some difficulties to spot his left leg at first glance. Maybe some space between the leg and tight could help ?

Thank you, my dear! Hm... yes, a gap between the lower leg and thigh could have worked better. I like this pose as the apex or conclusion of a particular motion, but I could have shown it 'earlier' where the leg is not fully curled yet. I will keep learning and (hopefully) improving.

There's something frighteningly beautiful about this guy.Β Yet, at the same time, he confuses me.Β It's not often I see a character that is like this.Β There is femininity to him but also masculinity, and while I have a character who has both qualities, your guy here is unreadable.Β But that is a good thing because it is making my creative brain ponder more about him.Β

Dark Eldar value aesthetics highlyβand Eldar are a naturally pretty species (as elves tend to be)βbut they are also rotten to the core behind their lovely faces. I think Kharybdis is a bit of an exception... but not completely.

Dark Eldar are part of the Warhammer 40k universe created (and nicked from other companies...) by Games Workshop. They are largely Dark Elves in space, though they do have some cool quirks that are unique to them.
A hungry Chaos god wants to eat their souls, so they strive to stay alive as long as they can. They do this by feeding on the pain of others. Their entire society is built on nipping out of their Dark City every so often, grabbing fresh slaves to torment and going home for fun and games.

Oh!Β I remember Warhammer!Β That to me is 'old school', like my old D&D days.Β :3Β I used to date a welsh-man who used to paint those tiny models.Β I remember going to Cardiff to a Warhammer store.Β He was like a kid in a candy store.Β

Warhammer is a fantasy setting and Warhammer 40k is sci fi (the 40k stands for it being set in the 41st millennium). The Eldar are essentially space elves, and the Dark Eldar are their evil kin. It is hard to feel too sorry for them when they brought this doom on themselves. The Chaos God they call She Who Thirsts was birthed by their own endless excesses. The Eldar try to stave her off by living strictly disciplined lives and the Dark Eldar take the opposite approach.

Ah, I see now.Β I guess you cannot feel sorry for them, no matter how handsome they are and what thin ideas of clothing they may design.

That would be lovely!Β I have a few other friends who live around London.Β I was planning a trip, but one of these friends said the US dollar is so bad that the trip would be pointless.Β Which is very sad as I do need a vacation.Β However, If I did visit...I don't think I would come home!Β My heart and soul are drawn to those ancient lands.Β
And yes, the business does keep me busy.Β I own a holistic dog grooming salon, and currently and dealing with a complete demolishing and rebuild of my new location after the house caught fire before Christmas.Β

London would be perfect. I am not far from there and could recommend a nice town for us to rendezvous in (perhaps with a cathedral and some other impressive old things). I am not sure about the exchange rate, it looks about the same as usual to me. The UK is rather pricey compared to other countries, I admit, but I will buy you a coffee and a cake.
