A lovely model and while it would be perfect for my purposes sadly it became useless since it cannot be scaled. However, it's still a beautiful unfold.

Thanks! How small do you need it? It's easy to half, quarter, 1/8th, or 1/16th the size of locked models, you just tell your Print Settings to print two, four, eight, or 16 document pages per each physical sheet of paper. The edge-numbers get pretty small and difficult to read after 1/4 scale, but following the PDO on your computer as a reference ought to be enough help to overcome that. You can also—again, using Print Settings—reduce the scale of locked files by arbitrary percentages. Just set the document to print at, for example, 98%, 90%, or 75% of its normal size.
I just lock my templates so no one can change the text in the files and take credit for unfolding them.
I've heard of that happening to other designers' templates. The scoundrels....
Here were my notes about how I scaled all of my Dark Souls papercrafts . I've been sticking to that scheme with every single one. So, this shield is, in my opinion, a really good estimation of its real life size. I try not to lock stuff anymore (I used to, years ago) without being DARN SURE that the scale I chose should satisfy most people. And I do often do so with that Print Settings trick in mind, but I don't suspect it is commonly known in papercrafting yet... And I don't even know if all printers' software is even capable of that.
If you need to scale it UP, though, then that would need the file unlocked....
