Description Wow, I was Quite forced by many people to finally put this one here 😂

I was testing out my new watercolour brushes and I have to say they're sooooooo nice! Such smooth flow, minimal amount of hairs in the paint, same amount of paint in my hair, they hold water and paint VERY nicely, and they come in so many different sizes from seriously huge to teeny tiny. Love them.

Also this was first time I was able to make clean lines in watercolour, and still keep it transparent. Yay!

I think I can say that I really identify with this girl. We both love reading, we both love nature, and we both like peace and quiet.

Hello again. ^^

You have done nice work again :3. You have done great job with this piece's atmosphere and feel. It looks clean and the colors go really well with eachother without mixing up too much or being too colorful/bright/dark/grey-ish. You have handeled the water colors really well and chosen a good calm color palette. The piece is pleasant for the eye and doesn't look too busy. The scenery at the back is really nice and clean and "dreamy". It's simple enough to put more of the attention to the person but it is still detailed enough to look really good and still catch some attention without making things too full and busy. The person really looks like they are enjoying the book and are really into it's world.

Only problem with this is the person's too short neck (I won't go too much into anatomical errors with this critique because Arineange already went through them in their critique ^^ )....
I would like to give you one tip about hands though: Try to avoid hiding them. I know hands can be a nightmare, but with hiding them it can make the piece look a little bit less natural and it makes learning to draw hands harder. Use references and do study sketches of hands to make drawing them easier. I personally sometimes like to just draw my own hand in different poses to learn the anatomy better.

This tip is if you want to be more proffessional in the future: I advice you to try to put more attention on the paper you use. That paper isn't a big problem, but it still seems to warp a little from the water. Correct paper can make your work pop out even more and look even better. It can make things easier too with watercolors when the paper can take water better ^^... But you have managed to still handle that paper well and the warping isn't even an issue, but it's still good to remember that even the paper can affect the look of the piece and it can be important to choose the right one.
But at this point I think you should not stress too much about this. Polish your skills on your own pace and experiment with different papers and techniques as long as you need and find the right tools for yourself. No need to rush yourself and overwork and use huge ammounts of money on suplies.
If this paper is something you see as the right one maybe taping the sides of the paper on the drawing surface can reduce the warping.

Srl great job on this. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="38" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="160" title="Hug"/> ... I hope you stay inspired and I hope you have a nice day/night :3 ... remember to take care of yourself and avoid overworking

I understand ^^ .... and as a really tired introvert even without any special reason I'll understand :3

No problem .... Thank you for taking critisism really well...

Good luck with your school and art... remember to take breaks to avoid burnouts

That's a lovely drawing, I'd love to see it in real life, it'd probably looks a lot better than on the picture xD The colors are nice (the detailed hair and dress especially) <3 The background seems to be a place she imagines while reading, because of the fact it fades on the borders.

The only weak part in this drawing, I'd say, is the anatomy : even if she looks down toward her book, she seems to have no neck. Her head should be placed higher on her body I think, and a bit more at the left side of the drawing. The proportions seems a bit incorrect too with the body a bit too small in comparison to the head (my own usual problem with proportions lol). This gives the impression that there's something wrong with the shoulders... While when I hide the head it seems correct so I think actually the shoulders are done well, it's just that mistake that gives a strange impression to the figure I guess.
Her forehead is a bit too large too.

Anyway, that's a nice drawing, the girl has a pretty face and hair e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/> Nice pick with the colors too! You seem to enjoy identifying yourself to artworks (I guess most of us do anyway?) Oh and I like how she's dress. Great job e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

I honestly can't tell you how happy it always makes me to see your critiques!!

Hahaha, you guessed it, yes it looks "a little" different in real life. This was a close as I was able to get.... I seriously can't wait for spring and summer and longer days, so I Will have any actual light.... -_-
Thanks! I honestly focused on hair and dress so much I might have cared less about the rest to be honest xDD Ohh, nice interpretation, thanks! (to ruin the magic, I have to say that I just didn't want her to be floating in whiteness again, like many others lol)

Oh yes... I agree. Not to "apologise" for or to "justify" my mistakes, but I think the anatomy mistakes mainly happened because I tried to do with little/no sketch, meaning watercolours directly on, no guideliness. Yeaaaaa, not gonna try that again for awhile... lol I absolutely agree with everything you said and I will definetly take those points in mind if I ever make a re-draw/a pose like this again.

Thanks again, you're too kind! Haha yes, I'm noticing that even when I don't intend to, I make it personal, something that has "me" in it. I don't know how, but that's always the result!

Thanks.

I'll be writing those critiques whenever I find some time to.

Oh, no pencil sketch first, well that's more difficult and you managed to make a nice drawing even if it was a lot more intuitive!

This.

A flowerpone can just look with envy over this kind of artistic greatness made in traditional form.

(I would have loved to also see the addition of a hair bow or ribbon or flower.. aaah~)

It's very nice looking, though the photo is making it look a more grainy than it really is (I assume)
Nature, reading/relaxation and the still life is a recurring theme and motif of yours, and it is most certainly done with passion.

Very nice. You are doing great

(Your comments are always so great to read!)

Haha, thank you, thank you...  It's no big deal really, and I didn't even want to post it, but certain people in my life insisted on it and wouldn't shut up about it. So if I wanted some peace I had to post it. lol The next thing I am about to upload right now is way better in my opinion.

(next time definetly adding a bow or flower!!)

True, true... As much as I love traditional art, and photography itself, taking photos of artwork is %(/- .;__!1'-.žĆŽČĆ._¨Ä{###.... Not nice. xD I guess photoshop helps, but also makes it look grainy... ahhh... :/
Thank you for noticing that! I guess motifs choose me and not vice-versa.

Thank you thank you thank you
