The funny thing is, when I first recruited Maribelle I didn't really like her that much (which is understandable because she was pretty useless in battle at the time). But once I got all her supports and had a chance to delve deeper into her personality, I actually really like her (hence the most complicated birthday drawing I've ever done, it even has a real background and everything... but Maribelle's standards would accept no less lol).
Shouldn't I be asleep at 1:41 am?

Yeah, Maribelle is a really great character, she has so many different layers in her personality and I think she's one of the better written characters in Awakening.

Oh okay, I mean you've said before that you really like the characters from the older games so that's perfectly understandable. I like using the pair up system stat bonuses to help me win battles, so I'll usually pair up characters who have supports with each other and married couples... and since the einherjar don't have any supports at all... you get the idea XD plus since Awakening is the only fire emblem game I've played I'm more attached to those characters (mostly the parent generation and a select few of the kids)

I agree. Excellus is a worm. It's funny because I'm actually quite fond of some of the villains.... but man, Excellus is awful.

Yeah, and his tragic backstory makes me want to hUG THE LIFE OUT OF HIM not really but god his a-supports with his parents made me cry...
Excellus is just... I remember going through the game and every time he appeared I just went "wHEN DO I GET TO KILL HIM GODDAMMIT"
But some of the villains were really funny and awesome! Like, remember that guy Cervantes who was obsessed with his mustache and believed it made him invincible? I loved that guy, I was kinda disappointed that you don't get to recruit him...

Cervantes was my favorite! I was so glad when he came back and laid the smackdown on Excellus in that one scene before attacking Walhart. Though... as far as villains go, Walhart wasn't my favorite. I liked Aversa and Gangrel more than I liked Walhart and Validar. Gggh. Validar. *shudders*

Wow, three times? I've only done 2 playthroughs so far, and I haven't even finished the game on my first one... But then again, I've logged over 560 hours on my first playthrough... I've been putting off playing the endgame to get all the supports and make all my units extremely overpowered.

Yeah he's cute, and possibly the nicest guy in the whole army on top of that. I paired him with Cordelia in my second playthrough, but I prefer to pair him with Panne (well, she hates humans, so I got her the nicest human I could find XD)

I agree, that's a cute ship. But my deal with Cordelia is that no other pairings make her forget about Chrom - and in her and Stahl's supports, she doesn't even mention him until the S support, and that's because Stahl brought it up. So Cordelia gets Stahl and Panne gets Lon'qu. But I agree, Stahl is kind of the best. Okay, not kind of the best, the best.

Speak about hating Maribelle, I couldn't stand her and Ricken simply because that stupid level where you recruit her. That level just... no. No.
But now she is my favorite character due to her depth! I always use her either as my healer or pair her up with Chrom as a black knight (Dat support). I still have yet to pair MU with her though.

Ugh that level... Ricken is actually pretty useful that level if you play it right, in my playthrough he one-shotted a bunch of the wyvern riders before a couple of them got close enough to do damage and eventually kill him (all hail casual mode)
Yeah, Maribelle is one of the more complex characters, surprisingly. It doesn't seem like it at first, but once you really get to know her she's pretty great
