when she flies she can let her hair down and just feel free...

Zhilan was born into a normal middle class family. To her parents joy, she showed a high level of intelligence early on in her life, as well as a high curiosity. While other children played with their toys she would often be taking hers apart to see how they worked (and often got in trouble for it too). Her parents wanted her to keep her focus on school so she could have a better life, and most of the time that's how she liked it, but every once in a while she would look out the window and long to be a part of the baseball game or hide-and-seek. Soon she became accustomed to her solitude and her studies became a way to isolate herself from others. Don't get me wrong, she wasn't very shy at all in the sense that she was great at giving presentations, speeches, and formalities, she just didn't know how to get close to someone. One day She gazed up at the barren night sky and saw lights off in the distance, high in the sky. They looked just like the stars she'd seen in pictures, but looked so...alone. She saw herself in those lights that night and came to a realization of her own. "Whats the point of shining so brightly if there's no one else to share in the glow?" The next day she heard people asking around for those willing to help put the stars back in the sky. She went home that night and designed a kite.

the mask represents her true self, and her normal face is but a facade, hiding who she really is. The mask is her true spirit and vibrant personality that is normally hidden behind a stern, serious face.
her kite is a three dimensional one with a hollow column body that is larger in diameter in the middle then at the ends. the wings attatch at the base of the neck. they look like two long right triangles fused togeather at the base, and have the umbrella look bat wings on their hypotenuse sides. the flowing mane is red thread and the tail is also long red thread knotted almost all the way down to the bottom. she used her engineering side to design and make the kite. she put her soul into making it and her emotions into painting it.

can you tell that i love dragons? haha so in turn so does she. the freedom, power, and harmony they represent.
