Description
On the evening of August 7, 2012, we're on BNSF's Needles Subdivision outside of Needles CA to chase trains. Soon, we caught 2 trains, BNSF SLBEALT1 from Pier E in Long Beach CA to Alliance TX & Amtrak Train #3, the Westbound Southwest Chief, from Chicago IL to Los Angeles CA. The train was running over 2 hours & 35 minutes behind schedule & is making up for lost time behind 2 P42DC's as it passes the Stack train heading for it's next stop in Barstow. Bringing up the rear are the Private Cars, Stampede Pass (a CB&Q/NP Dome Coach), Hollywood Beach (an SAL Sun Lounge Car), & Gamma Kitchi Club (a Pullman 10-1-2 Sleeper Car by Virginia rail Investment Group) which were traveling to LA to interchange on the Coast Starlight to Seattle WA. The train would arrive in LA, the following morning.
