Description
On the afternoon of may 30, 1995, we're on ATSF's Transcon outside of Seligman AZ to chase trains, while on our way to Oklahoma to chase UP Challenger #3985 on it's tour across Texas. Soon, we caught Amtrak Train #3, the Westbound Southwest Chief, from Chicago IL to Los Angeles CA. The train was running over 3 hours & 22 minutes behind schedule & is making up for lost time behind a P40DC & 2 F40PH's, as it files past the cameras, bound for Hollywood. Bringing up the rear are the Private Cars Cimarron River (an MKT Sleeper Car that served with the MKT's Meteor & Texas Special Passenger Trains), Dover Harbor (a Pullman 10-1-2 Sleeper Car owned by the Washington D.C Chapter NRHS), Patron Tequila Express (a former GM&O Observation Car owned by entrepreneur John Paul DeJoria), Virginia City (a Pullman Observation Car once used by Lucius Beebe & Charles Clegg). The train would arrive in LA, the following afternoon.
