Description
On the morning of June 28, 2001, we're on CSX's South End Subdivision outside of Dillon SC to chase our old friend, the American Orient Express, on it's tour through the Deep South from New Orleans LA to Washington D.C. The train was running between Charleston SC to Richmond VA which was the longest daylight stretch on the route. Soon, we caught the 15 car AOE racing along the track speed heading for Richmond behind 2 P42DC's as it passes a rural station with passenger waiting for the Southbound Silver Palm to arrive. The lead unit is painted in the older Phase III Paint scheme & the 2nd unit is painted in the Phase IV paint scheme. The train would arrive in Richmond, that evening, while we headed for a local café for breakfast.
