Description
On the morning of October 5, 1974, we're on Lake Erie & Eastern's Mainline in Breakneck Ridge State Park, 75 miles East of Columbus OH to chase LE&E I-2-A Mikado #5193 on the 1974 Lake Erie Chapter NRHS's Lake Erie Limited from Cleveland OH to Boston MA. Soon, we caught the 5193 & her train racing along at track speed heading for the Athens of America. The consist is made up of 38 Coaches from Penn Central, LE&E, Illinois Central, CB&Q, Great Northern, & many more, that the Society had leased for this excursion. Assisting the Mikado on this trip is an EMD GP35 & an FP7A which were also used to provide heating & electricity to the coaches. We'll chase the 5193 throughout the trip & the return to Cleveland. The Train would layover for the night in Boston before the return trip.
