Description
In July 1993, we traveled to that year's NRHS Convention based in Chicago IL. We traveled on UP's NRHS Convention Special that was powered by Challenger #3985. The train was originally supposed to take the Missouri River Subdivision, but heavy flooding from the previous night's storm has put the line out of service for repairs. So we had to travel over the former C&EI Route to get to Chicago. At a Dirt Road Crossing, we pass a Stockton CA Bound Stack Train hauled by a C40-8 & an SD40-2. Once we arrive in Chicago the following day, the Convention would begin.
