Description
Some character interaction sketches from my original story, Ensouled! These are the lead characters: the girl is Sequoia Loganberry and the guy is Charley Parkhearse. I’m still figuring out the finer points of their designs and characterization, and that means lots of doodles! Every time I work up a nice batch I scan ‘em in and color them. Next time, gonna expand to the rest of the core cast and try some other lighting schemes.(Ensouled isn't anywhere near ready to begin production, but I'll be posting concept work from time to time as I slowly put things together)

I got very excited when I saw this in my notifications--I loved the last bit of art for this that you posted, and it's good to see more of it (plus I'm a sucker for new stories and characters--I may have started following you for fan content, but original content is my jam 
I know you said that Ensouled isn't anywhere near ready to begin production, and that's perfectly fine and understandable--I've been working on an original story too, and it's incredibly daunting when you realize you have to basically build up their world from scratch. I'm glad you're talking about fine-tuning their characterization, because to me that's always the strongest part of the story--worlds can be gorgeous like Avatar, and there's always a subtly different way to tell the eight main story types, but in my opinion the characters and how they react are always the main part of a story, because if we don't like the characters, why follow their adventures? Just know that I'll be waiting patiently and cheering when it's ready.

Charley's pretty solid by default, though he can turn intangible at will-- so yeah, Danny Phantom rules. He can't turn other things intangible though, just himself.

Aww, they look adorable! I have a similar idea about a human/ghoul team, except they’re siblings and the ghoul is female. You’ve got me curious now.

Small question though: What audience are you aiming for? Just curious.

I'm shooting for the a young adult fiction range-- nothing over PG-13. The main audience would probably be teens/adults from 13 to late 20's, mostly women. But I'd hope to make something that's enjoyable by a wide range of people. For a mainstream comparison, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is pretty close (although a lot of this story is made in direct response to qualms I have with that show)

This looks like it's becoming a very good story! The characters look very interesting and I'm really excited on learning more about them!
One question though. Once Ensouled is ready, understanding it could take a while to get there, will it be a comic? Or some other form of media?
