I just realized 4 out of 6 persons/characters on this page are spectral.
That's quite an interesting dynamic.

Okay, I think since the last issue I'm beginning to put together a workable theory of what's going on here. We have the two foremost members of Chaotix in this place 200 years ago at the same time that Scourge went psycho and allowed his boss to kill everyone, so there must have been a crossover between Moebius and GOTF-verse, which also explains how Nicole could have heard about Scourge without having any direct dealings with him. What exactly Rouge and Omega learned that caused them to go there is less obvious.... though theoretically could have something to do with the Chaos Emerald, but I doubt it.
I'm still under the impression that Scourge is not on their side at this point. First of all, he was very eager for his boss to "teach them a lesson" and then immediately got ticked when he was ordered to do something he obviously didn't want to do (and since their presence is interfering with whatever plans he has, he'd want them possibly returned to their zone). Secondly it's interesting that directly after that, Scourge would approach Silver (despite the fact that he declared to Vennie he wouldn't go to him for help, plus the initial attempt to smack him around) then team up to rescue a counterpart he absolutely despises. Everything about the scenario reeks of a seriously potential betrayal because he's clearly doing what he was told since he has zero choice in the matter.
So we're watching Antique do everything she can to get the power to fight back against Fleetway Super ----- ah, I mean the mysterious, faceless antagonist who is determined to destroy everything and everyone in this world. Fun times.

Your theory is awesome! And it surprisingly makes total sense.
I just want to believe that Scourge is good though. Maybe he'll have a moment of pause when Vennie will convince him to be the good guy and to truly stand up against his boss.
I could then see him sacrificing himself to save Vennie and the others and end up with Fiona in heaven. It would almost be like a Greed thing from FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood, if you've seen that show or read the manga.

Thanks, but this was more about piecing together little things from different issues to see how they weave into the full narrative.
Well, I doubt Evan wants to change Scourge's personality too much. He's always been a backstabbing jerk, and that's unlikely to change even when he's dead. But I have to say she definitely gets credit for making him sympathetic enough for everyone to turn around and go "Yay! He's on the good side now!" because I seriously never would have believed it could be possible.
Well, if he does pull a Greed-self-sacrifice moment, it would have to be done just right. The emotional impact worked out perfectly in FMA because of Greed's history, the lead-up, and the specific circumstances at the end since he finally understood what it was to be satisfied with what he had. Scourge has some of that covered, but if it all culminates in one of those things where the whole zone is disintegrating around them and he uses everything he has to open a portal so that Silver & Company can escape.... nah, that just comes across as weak to me. I've seen it too many times in books, movies, TV shows (especially those from the '90s) and it's just not "Scourgey" enough. If he's going to sacrifice himself, I hope she thinks a little more outside the box than that. Hatred, revenge and proving he's the best tend to be his MO.
LOL! Am I just crazy for suddenly wondering whether Nicole is going to invite the antagonist into GOTF-verse because he's bored with Moebius?

I have a possibly spoiler to what is going on in the last panel, so for those of our who don't want to know what may or probably won't happen, LOOK AWAY.
I think that Tikal is trying to take back control over the Chaos Emeralds. Y'know, because of what happened in Issue 1, where Knux was dead (still a bit sad about that) so nobody could protect/guard the Master Emerald, and Sonic was about to die, so Tikal did some magical stuff that had to do with Sonic and the 7 Chaos Emeralds (my memory is horrible, by the way), then Sonic had that necklace-thing around his neck when he first got his ghost form (idk).
So there. An opinion from a weirdo currently in the Milky Way Galaxy.

Still... Maybe that DID happen somewhat in this universe as well. After all, it IS a parallel universe. She might have just heard of Sonic and the power he possesses.
