It's funny how Scourge's mortal chest scars are being maintained even now that he is a ghost. Is this because that is how he remembers himself, because that was how he defined himself in life?
He wanted to be different from Sonic and wore his scars proudly, thus he still has them..?

Yeah-- for the most part, the ghosts don't retain the injuries that caused their death, but older wounds stay. Scourge had his scars long before he died, and he considers them a badge of honor; proof that he forged a new identity for himself.Β

i'm so glad i decided to pick up reading this again after so many years, i used to read this in middle school and now i'm graduated from high school!
this comic has come a long way, and i still love it so much. the art has improved crazy amounts over 10 years TwT

Technically it's a combination of Vennie's shield and Silver's unique psychic aura that's doing the job-- this is working up the the eventual reveal of a specific sonic-verse baddie.
