Pazie są w ogóle piękne, ale nie spodziewałam się, że tu (w Ameryce) są takie duże. Tak ze 2-3x większe od europejskich

Gorgeous! I've been looking for these butterflies this summer; I've found a few but haven't gotten any really good photos yet. This gent seems to have cooperated better than the ones I've encountered. You did a lovely job with the capture.

Thank you I've been trying to catch them for few months now. It turned out that all I had to do was to find the right flowers. Now I have plenty of photos

You are absolutely correct! I'm still looking for the right flowers around here.

Yes, it is . I'm still getting used to the fact that here in North Carolina butterflies are about two times larger then in Poland.

I moved here half a year ago. Summer is hard to take but I love the sights.

summer is hard because of the weather?

evaPM In reply to stephxred [2010-07-31 03:54:25 +0000 UTC]

Yes. I don't like heat and it's been over 30C since end of May. Good thing they have A/C everywhere.

haha.. you would hate the midwest i live in south dakota and we had a heat wave of 100F or hotter for two weeks straight. and it storms horribly here.. lightning and flooding all the time!

evaPM In reply to stephxred [2010-07-31 20:52:04 +0000 UTC]

I would. Actually, I hate it just from description

Generally US have more extreme temperatures then Europe. Summers are hotter and winters (at least where there are winters) are much colder then in Europe (northern states from Illinois to Idaho have winter temperatures that have never been even recorded in Poland). But this year is special. First there was very cold and snowy winter on the whole Northern hemisphere (except Canada). Now it's one of the hottest summers on record. My family back home kept on complaining about temperature and I was glad I'm here where A/C is everywhere. Luckily today is cold and rainy
