I'd think it likely that with a timely warning that there's a vengeful chimera in the forest with a dangerous amulet it would have been reasonably straightforward to avoid such tragedy. Even the chimera might well have survived. But the real issue isn't the effectiveness of the warning; it's the delivery itself. Time travel in and of itself is dangerous, not counting closed loops, and there's little research on its effects. It's too much risk, even to save a loved one.

Makes you wonder, if this spell works, could it be used to allow Grand Pear to reconcile with his daughter now that the apples and pears have put their differences behind them? *it'd also allow for Big Mac, AJ, and AppleBloom to catch up a bit with their parents*
