Description "....She was golden as the Vanyar, her mother's kindred, and she seemed to him [Maeglin] as the sun from which all the King's hall drew it's light."
The Silmarillion: Of Maeglin.

Inspired by J.R.R Tolkien's brilliant piece of literature, I give you Idril Celebrindal (Or in Quenya "Sparkling Brilliance") daughter of Turgon, princess of Gondolin, wife of Tuor. The tale of Tuor and Idril is among my favorite tales in The Silmarillion, so I decided to draw my version of her.
I'm very proud of this piece. Not because I finished it in one day (6 hours total!) but because it came out the way I wanted. I did have help from a picture that MirkyJedi [link] took of me, so it might look a bit like myself. This was not intended! I just liked the pose and hair, and tried to make the face more original. I hope to someday color it, but I've never colored any of my drawings for fear of ruining it.

Anyway, please let me know what you think!

P.S. Sorry about how sharp the photo is when you click on it, my camera stinks...(Scanner is worse which is why I didn't use it)

Pretty picture. I like how you put expression on her face.
Background looks quite poor (this part around mountains) but still like it, especially that dress.

Thank you! The dress itself is one of my favorites that I own, and it always reminded me of Tolkien's world.
As for the background, I agree. I was never good at landscape and it was really an afterthought. But thank you!
