Description This was a matte painting I recently did to demonstrate a piece that was constructed mostly from my kitbash elements. I've made the .PSD available for free on my Gumroad page here:Β gumroad.com/l/PjMZM The kits used in this painting are also available through my Gumroad.Β

Curious. What does kitbash mean in this context? Heard it before, but that was in aircraft modeling.

Kitbash in this context - Typically this involves bashing together a collection of pre existing elements to form a greater design. In this instance, i took a kit i developed for Gumroad and arranged the elements in such a way that eventually formed an engine room interior. The great thing about these kits comes down to the old lego concept; you're focused less on developing the parts, the technical side of the process, and more on exploring creative forms .. which in the end is what any art form should be about. So for me, this is a great process! i'm one of those people who likes to explore design in a very organic way.Β

Ah, yes, I see. English is not my first language, so always good to learn a new word. Thank you.

Oh, and let me not forget, this is a beautiful piece as well. It is not something I say lightly either since it reminds very much of the cityscapes of H.R. Giger, whom I hold in the highest regard.

Well done.

No apologies needed! I found it to be very intriguing to see how you did all that! I often wonder how they do that in movies with settings like this, but then with movement!
