Being a mother reading this broke my heart! You are such a caring friend since I can see the love that went into this painting. It is absolutely beautiful! I am so sorry for your friends loss. She is lucky to have someone like you in her life <3

You did something from the heart and no matter how far apart you live that's what truly counts <3

I think that this is one of your best paintings ever. I'm sorry for such sad circumstances, though....

Awe thank you, it had a mini disaster too in the form of Viktor coloring on their faces with a sharpie... a bit o acrylic later you can hardly tell still, major meltdown on my part LOL ^_^; Maybe I should have him do that to all my pieces so i work harder to hone them!

Wow, I would've had a breakdown, too. x.x But I'm glad you were able to fix it! I sure can't tell anything even happened.

Based on the emotions in the drawing, I would say Austin was a very lucky child to have a mother like your friend. May he rest in piece.

To say this is beautiful, heartfelt and emotional doesn't even begin to cover what you're going through, let alone your friend. I have no idea how I'd cope with that kind of thing and as I don't have children myself, I wont pretend to understand - it's impossible.
My other half saw this over my shoulder and said "ahh that's really cute", after telling him the reasons behind it he went quite for a while. When I asked him if he was ok he said "Yeah... Just keenly aware of how shit life can be." I think that sums it up.
The picture is beautiful, friendship is beautiful and motherhood is beautiful. Life, on the other hand, is ugly and brutal.

Awe yeah I think as I see one already a lot of people are going to skip over the artist comment and say it's cute. My intention isn't to be everyone's Debbie Downer with this, but I do think it's important to note, maybe encourage others to cherish the gift of life a bit more and put things in perspective. True, it can be indifferent and appear cruel, but it's just life.

I am so terribly sorry for your friends loss. I cannot even comprehend what she is going through right now. This picture is beautiful and all the more sad knowing a little of why you have made it for her.

Yeah i can't fathom her sadness and the void left, but I can tell you I've been holding Viktor quite a bit tighter, to his dismay ><
