Ladies and Gentleman! I present thee: My New OC!~ ;3Meet Myril! :^3
They're a Nightmare (corrupted 'Guardian Spirit' (who are a work in progress)) roaming the dream realm - where they enter people's dreams and kill them in their sleep! the victims will look as if they passed away peacefully in their sleep, nothing more.~ ;3
They can be summoned in mirrors-- More details on them will be posted later, as I'll get to work on a ref!~ ;3
This. This is probably the best broken mirror I have ever drawn in my entire life. :'3

Hi! I found this browsing the undiscovered section of dA, and I quite like it! I love the dream/nightmare concept, and this character reminds me a lot of something one may find in the game Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic (the original game that Super Mario Bros 2 was based off of). Lovely work! :3

She still dared not move her arms from their suspended inanimation, but she could feel Myril's own intrigue break the fearful tension that held her there. Despite being a woman of mirth, she couldn't let her guard down just yet*
"It is of importance, on the contrary. It's my dream, isn't it? And, I'm lucid... ... I'm Senna Upadhyay--Princess and Architect of the Awazon Island Empire..." *She paused, narrowing her black-lined eyes. She asserted herself* "Again, you are...?"

Ooh, I like that approach Myril has, and Senna should be more glad than she is that ze's so open-minded to keeping her alive! There are plenty of fears in her to exploit, and, at 25, she's still a bit naive in many areas of her life, but perhaps ze will find something of interest in her. One thing's for sure, she loves to make a good bargain~

Senna: *through her sobriety, she couldn't help but feel a tug at the corner of her mouth at Myril's jeering gesture; quickly, she stopped herself from breathing a chuckle. After all, with a hat like theirs, they seemed a jester of sorts, and she knew well that she was only recently dubbed princess, and in title only. To her, she would always be a middle-class worker first and foremost. Still, she played the card.*

Myril: //cackles, a loud and scraping sound that echoes around them unnaturally. Their black eyes follow her very step, with a mildly amused epression hidden behind their mask.
They began to folllow her steps, turnig along so she would Always be at their front. Their eyes trailed over her body, scanning and observing her every movement.
"Indeed, I an not dream that is 'owned' by anyone - I am my own entity, something that is not created by your subconscious.~"
//the smile of the lady caused one of their own to appear on their face, neatly hidden behind the Venice-themed mask.
"It most certainly is, little princess. You see, like royalty is the highest rank in your world, in this realm, being either a Dream or Nightmare is equal to those statusses.I'm in charge of the place, you could say!~"

Ooh, I must say that Myril has stumbled across a good person to help them achieve their goal, especially since the young lady might have a motive of her own! Like I said, she's quite a confident young woman who's never been very shy, but that doesn't mean that she's not vulnerable or exempt from being exploited in just the right way by just the right mind.
And it's awesome that Myril is quite fair and willing to return the favor for being helped! With their power, they could easily just take what they want and screw Senna over afterwards. Really, I like them so much already!

Senna: //together, the cackle and scratching resounded around her and penetrated her head like the tinny ringing inside of a can. For a moment, the invisible sounds voraciously devoured her from the inside, and the raucous frequencies squeezed the veins in her head shut which gave her a sudden and immense, violent headache. She stopped circling Myril and suddenly doubled over in pain, but the sensation went just seconds after it came, and she shot back up in involuntary surprise--the thick, black braid that she had hurled over her shoulder eclipsed her crownless head and whipped at her back. Vulnerable, and with a face flushed with confusion, she listened to Myril's calm, inhuman voice--the glossy childishness of her eyes fixed somewhere in the distance as they spoke.
...I am my own entity, something that is not created by your subconscious...
//Despite her renewed uncertainty for the situation, the cogs of her scientific mind wheeled with their great propensity. Teeming with a quiet abundance, finally, her cup overfloweth.
"If I'm in a dream, and you're an entity independent of it, then my subconsciousness may be in a parallel dimension coordinated to the lucidity of my consciousness while asleep..." She returned her focus to the nightmare spirit. "... In dreaming, I may have shifted some of my reality into a tangible plane of existence--thus making my subconscious state as real as my sleeping body!"
//The thesis suddenly overwhelmed her. Her expression transformed from the bright ruddy glow indicative of her humanity to the disappointment of her practicalities and doubts. All the same, the potential discovery enraptured her to forget the infinite number of dangers she knew that Myril posed her. Without thinking of what may happen to her if she touched them, she grabbed [at] the sides of their arms with an impassioned demand.
"For the sake of science, I need you to prove to me that you're not really a projection of my subconscience! Show me what you are!"

//Myril chuckled, again giving one their awfully moving bows towards Senna. They had to admit that the woman's theory was quite impressive - they were dealing with an intelligent being here for certain. This made them start to think, curiosity taking over their mind - what would this lady be capable of? Could... could she be of potential use of them? The idea only already excited them. This woman, Senna, who was clearly a powerful being in reality and far more intelligent than her fellow humans, could prove to potentially be very, very useful to them in the end.
A plan began ro form ij the back fo their mind as they stared down a her, grinning broadly behind their mask as their black, acidic saliva began to build up in their mouth.
Just in case - it was always useful for potential attacks.
But before they would do anything to her, they needed to get this person to trust them and feel at ease - the more tensed up she was, the like lier she'd be unwilling to strike any deal.
"Of course, my lady! What do touw sir for me to do? Whatever you'll suggest shall be done.~"
They cackled again, the sickening sound having the same effect as before. Yes, ask them anything Senna - they'll do it with glee.~

Holy frack, that's such a kind thing for you to say! It especially means a lot to me because I take great pride in my writing! It's something that I eventually want to master in my life (more than art, even), and I'm extremely humbled and inspired by great writers like F. Scott Fitzgerald and George Orwell. These two especially are my mentors and I IDOLIZE them! *u* If I can even write a fraction as good as they can, I'll be satisfied forever!

Again, the unholy sound that emanated from Myril strangled her mind. This time, she was possessed to howl as she threw her head back in the agony of feeling her blood vessels squeeze and contort her brain. It would be much to her chagrin if she had full control of her will, but, like a helpless, wounded animal, she pleaded for mercy to the nightmare being in her abject state.
"STOP! Please--STOP!"
Although the throes of pain ceased as suddenly as did the horrific cackle, she could still feel the energy of her pitiful writing as it traveled to the other points in the polygon of her multi-plane existence.
She stopped and glared contemptuously at Myril, not at all eased by their headache-inducing cackle but she was soon again interrupted by another unsettling sensation--the ghosting of a strong grasp on her shoulders. She felt a compression on the intersection between her collarbone and shoulder, and she swore silently that she could feel herself being shaken forcefully and being pinned down with great pressure against a surface, as if she was in a supine position. And yet, there was nothing on her--nothing behind her. She stood upright and stood perfectly still...
"Myril..." Her heart was pounding, and she could barely think in her haze. "I need to know what's happening to me... I need to know what's real. I need you to show me..."
Confused, but confident, finally, she decided.
"...Take off your mask."

The scream Senna gave when they laughed was nothing but pleasing to them, but they kept their mouth shut again. Harming her was no good way to gain her trust - and they needed her to feel at ease, to lower her gard so they could strike without any hesitation.
Some more exploring, some more manipulating and frightening, that should suffice for getting a degree of certainity as to how useful Senna could be to them later.
However, her request did put them off - taking off their Mask? Had she gone Mad? They'd rather drie than take off their mask - and honestly, taking it off did mean they were highly vulnerable as they could not keep their mask as close as usual then.
"Take off my mask? I'm sorry, my dearest Senna, but I cannot do such a thing." They hissed at her, clearly not agreeing with what she asked of them.
They could manipulate the environment in whatever way she'd ask, they could let objects, animal and people appear just as she could as of them, but they refused to furfill this seemingly simple request. Never, never would they wilingly take off their mask - their mask was their life, their soul, in a very literal manner. If that thing would break, it would be Game over for Myril as well. Not to mention the risk of getting paralysed if the mask would crack in some way.
