Description There are currently three known species of threshers bigeye, common, and pelagic which are part of the order lamniforms.

The bigeye thresher is the second largest species of thresher reaching lengths of up to 5m/16ft in length and weighing up to 360kg/800lbs, it can be identified by it's more elongated body and very long snout. Its eyes along with being enormous face upwards suggesting it hunts in deeper waters. Out of all threshers the bigeye's tail isn't nearly as long as compared as the other two species.

The common thresher is the largest of all (living) threshers being as long a large great white shark 6m/20ft and reaching 500kg/1,000 lbs in weight. It can be identified by It's stockier build, having a tail even longer than that of the bigeye thresher, and having the smallest eyes compared to the other two species, its head is also broad.

The pelagic thresher is the smallest of the three species only reaching 3m/10ft in length and weighing up to 70kg/150lbs in weight. they look eerily similar to bigeye except that it's tail is the longest of all threshers.
