Description Once again it was time for a new wallpaper, so I fiddled around with a Minecraft save file and exported a few chunks of terrain into Blender using this handy exporter script .

Cheerfully colored and rendered in Luxrender.

Dimensions: 1600x540

Full resolution: 3200x1080

I suppose it would be appropriate to thank Notch and Mojang for the excellent algorithm that generated this lovely landscape!

Edit: I've updated this with a new render, there were a few details bugging me about the old one, which you can still view here .

That is amazing!!! How is that possible to extract chunks from a save to a 3d file?

Oh! Good question.

I used a script called mcobj which was made by quag .

There's no interface, so you have to do it by command line, but it works very well!
