A picture of a pretty unicorn, with a dark side, requested by a friend at school. I haven't really been drawing much fantasy lately (had anyone noticed?). And as I've said a million and a half times over, I used to be REALLY into the sword and sorcery thing a year or so back. It's faded, of course, with the onslaught (literally) of Soul Calibur upon my thoughts. Which, mind you, isn't a bad thing at all.
But one of my goals this year is to do lots more fantasy work. So I might as well start out with a unicorn. I know there's a few errors, especially in the pose. When a horse raises a foreleg, for example, it raises it's back leg on the opposite side to step. I accidently made the 'raised leg' on the same side, front and back. So horse enthusiasts, forgive me!
And this unicorn needs a pretty name.
I'm thinking about Malchizhedec.

It may have a horsepose error or two, but really it is lovely! I think your "heavy inking" style actually looks best this way--colored with colored pencil. I don't normally like the grainy ways of the pencil, but for some reason it looked good when you used it here.

Oh, thanks! I'm glad to hear that you like the coloring.
I was a bit uncertan about it at first, but juging from the good reaction on the net, I think I'll start traditionally coloring more pieces with the heavier inking.

It actually looks a lot better than if you had done it digitally, because digitalness requires perfection in inking, whereas traditional art leaves more room for small imperfections here and there, such as a few lighter spots in the inking or perhaps some grain here and there. It really looks great!
