While the kingdoms seethe and boil below in an endless war, the empty heavens above are not left untouched. Above the lightless world is a watery void, a place devoid of rock, vent and silt. Though they have little to offer, the kingdoms below know to keep an eye on it all. While travel down below may be blocked by warriors and armies, transport through the blue abyss can aid in sending weapons and supplies. The moment one side even thought of using this empty expanse to their advantage, all the heavens were sucked into the turmoil. Now all living things that swim through this blue abyss must be wary of the watchers and guards. Those who look for transports and saboteurs, creatures sneaking over boundaries and enemy lines. They who will lash out at the slightest trespass, and drag their victims down below for judgement and death. The angels are one of these guards, hanging motionless in the watery void. The flicker of their wings is the only movement they give away, as they stand watch in the lighted waters. Though peaceful and harmless they may appear, they do not hesitate when intruders come around. The slightest bit of suspicion will cause them to spring to life, shooting their bodies towards the trespasser and snaring them with stinging barbs. Venomous stingers will rupture flesh and paralyze the nerves. The floundering victim shall die within their embrace, and their corpse will be left to sink down below. Then the angels will resume their post, and continue their endless vigil....
