This was genuinely a good painting tutorial - you gave us tips on how to produce a successful piece of artwork by telling us about the focal point, change in contrast etc. Thank you very much, Robin!

Neo-Br [2010-07-01 03:03:13 +0000 UTC]

Robin, I noticed between steps 5 and 6 a lot of improvement at textures, in special at the rocks. How you made these nice textures? Custom brushes, overlay stock images, what's the method you use? Do you have a package of brushes for this type of work? how can I achieve similar results?
I have great difficulty making landscapes. I'm really at the beginning of something. I'm trying to help at environment design for the Kitchen's RPG project, but twice I gave up the paintings I was doing.
Can you help me with something?

Why don't you post this one at the Kitchen?

I loved it. The technical talk you provided for the tutorial was really helpful. Do you find that you work more with hard tip brushes, air brushes, or miscellaneous patterns?

Great to see the process of your amazing paintings, and nice that there is a description too.
The next time I gotta try texturing the foreground more at least, to see what kind of difference does it make.

TowerCorp [2010-05-23 18:27:20 +0000 UTC]

thank you for this! it is always interesting to see the progress on a piece, especially for such an atmospheric scene. One thing i have to ask, do you add the details and shadows on other layers and keep adding them, or work on fewer layers?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

eWKn In reply to TowerCorp [2010-05-23 18:29:38 +0000 UTC]

New things I add on a separate layer and when im happy with the result i merge it together.
Thanks man
