Description This was one of those jaw-dropping Kodak moments which made me so happy that I had remembered to pack my camera and make sure my battery was fully charged.

For our honeymoon, Megan and I went to Cades Cove, which is part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The deer in the area are unflappable to the extreme. They'll let you walk up fairly close to them, and don't seem to mind camera flashes at all.

This pair of deer were out enjoying an early morning grass buffet when I happened along. They were about 20 feet from my camera when I started snapping shots. I snapped several shots from various angles to try and get a good shot with both of them in the picture. Then this happened... they both looked up... at the same time... and looked right at me.

if i were you i would make watermark nontransparent, so i could put in surreal category.
if you like to protect you ptohotgraphy - upload smaller size (3900×2613?) like 1024 largest side, write your name on image bottom right (or place you feel like) using small semi-transparent font.
remember watermarks and texts on images does not protect them from thieft, they can make you better money if you decide to go on court.

sorry for long rumble, i really like this photo, its calmenss and how you managed to capture ligt and shadow, pitty that watermark ruins it quite a bit. no offence meant.

I just used the standard deviantART watermark option. I do realize that watermarks don't protect images from theft, and it's sad the lengths that artists have to go through to protect their work.

In the past I've found it so very time-consuming trying to make the "perfect" watermark. I spent more time designing watermarks than I spent taking pictures! I finally just started using the dA watermark feature because it is visible but still is transparent enough to allow a person such as yourself to enjoy the image, it's fast because applies while I'm uploading the picture, and I don't have to upload multiple pictures (one for preview and one for the Prints Shop) thus saving my limited internet bandwidth as well.

I'm glad you like the photo!
And there was no offense taken in your comment. But I do like dA's watermark feature so, no offense to you, but I don't plan to change it.
