A gift for ~talonne , as she's been such a good friend to me.This really frustrated me after I finished the figure. I couldn't really think of a background and I thought it would be so.. plain without one. It could just be because I've been staring at this for a few weeks now, and it's starting to skew my perspective on it.

I really like the pose you did, and how you set up the way the viewer would see it. It gives you more of a look into her eyes and enabels you to see her body from a view not usually noticed

The character herself is wonderfully done and there's a definite depth to the curves that is lacking in a good number of images I have seen elsewhere on this site. The subtle highlights and just the overall control of "lighting" that you've accomplished here give this image a wonderful feel. The perspective and the pose also add a good deal to the work as it is. Finally, you've done a fantastic job with the hair... I know very little of what one can do with the program that you used or how much control one has with a tablet but apparently you do.
As for the background, keep it simple with maybe just a floor for her to rest on and cast some shadows on. Otherwise, don't over do it.

Stunning work Devlin. Absolutely amazing. I love her hair and the pose is fantastic. I love the fact you have tried soemething so different and interesting. The shading of her hair and dress is great as is your creation of such beautifully smooth skintones. Her piercing soulful eyes really give this life and I like the fact that there is no background. I think it would take away from the character. I like what she is wearing and the look on her face is very calm and relaxed. Beautiful

If you really need a background... adding a floor pattern might help. I think that's all you need since she's just floating against the gray color at the moment.
As for the figure itself, you did a great job with the coloring. The eyes strike me the most about it. Good work!

Haha... I doubt you can even spend a lot of time on the eyes in the first place. It's how you shaded it. It makes for a great focal point to the piece

I like it without a background, honestly, Dev. Anything else would distract, particularly from the really nice details in her hands and face. The hair too, for that matter. Really, I wouldn't change a thing. The shading is fantastic. I have absolutely no idea how to shade, on paper or otherwise, so I stand in awe! *grin*

I guess it could have used a background...but maybe a contact shadow with the floor and/or a reflection might also work....and the motion blur on the text erks me a bit.
But if I didn't like it, I wouldn't have +faved it.
