There's something I don't understand: Why do I have around, I don't know, 100 watchers, but my deviations get only 30 views or so. Take into account that some of those views are from non watchers.So, why the watchers don't watch? They don't like the titles? The thumbnails? Are they dead? You better be!

Hay algo que no entiendo: Por qué tengo como, no sé, 100 watchers pero los dibujos tienen sólo 30 visitas o por ahí. Tengan en cuenta que algunas de esas visitas no son de los watchers.
Entonces, porque los watcheros no watchean? No les gustan los títulos de los dibujos? O los thumbnails? Están muertos? Más les vale!

I tend not to watch people if I'm not going to look at their art. Although sometimes (like now) there are 29385723 deviations in my message box, so I get behind once in a while.

I have a ton of people I watch, but I guess 'cos I subscribe, I see the thumbs, and only click to view on ones that catch my eye.
So in that case, the deviations don't count the views - even though I've looked through.

Yeah man, with the new thumb thing (and the way it FORCES thumbs even in the bloody MESSAGE window) I'll usually browse through that way, rather than opening up ever single thing a person has uploaded.
Just saves time I guess. I usually get about 30+ deviations a day to look through, and if I've not been on DA for a week, it's usually a quick CTRL+click for anything cool looking to open it fresh in a new tab, and the rest are X'd.

For the question: I agree with leothefox, just a little addition:
deviantart. com is something like a thematic community portal, and as the community portals behave, a lot of different kind of people comes up here. And just as on myspace, facebook, and every one of these, there are some guys and girls, who just collects friends, because they seem to have fun because of it, they are competing with each other (I think you've heard some saying that: "Hey I now have 214 friends on myspace..." and the answer from another one: "haha you're lame, I have over 500 now on facebook, so shut up, asshole...")
... well at least I've heard these

There's not much I can say that leothefox didn't already cover. Only half of the people I watch are there because of their art, where the other half is based on friends and people I talk to regularly. Also, I may have added someone to my watch list a long time ago, and lost interest in their style of art. Rather than remove them from my list, I just stop checking all of their updates. I assume most people do the same thing, because it's pretty rare that someone's amount of watchers will actually decrease.

Yeah, that's strange for me, because I mostly watch people when I like what they do. And 95% of time I see the deviation before erasing it.

Por ahi hay muchos watchers que son watcheadores compulsivos, que todo lo que les gusta lo watchean, y despues no pueden seguir el ritmo de su propio watcheamiento.

As to your question it's hard to tell. I have about the same amount of watchers and also a somewhat disproportionate amount of views per deviation. I know I look every time you update, but I'll also admit I don't do that for all my friends. Some of the people on here I friended for their art, but for others it was that I liked talking to them, or I was just friending them back. These factors may apply in your case.
