Description Since I got a lot of possitive feetback on my idea of making longer description, I'm going to give it to all my pieces from now on. Enjoy.

The Story

In the beginning the 106th year of the 2nd Era, there was only peace and harmony in and around the world of Idyll. Humans and animals were living together as if they were friends. Every tree and flower was thriving for more than 10 months a year. It was a beautifull world, full of colors.
But as the time passes, the world changes...
A terrible war between Idyll and Aidan broke out. For more than 100 years these two nations have fought eachother. This would finally mean the End of a once beautifull world, known as Idyll...

The Looks

I've chosen for a new style in this piece, pure for experimenting. Some of the watching people should see that I used some of the same render- and brushing technics that I also used in Mindfields. I tried to give it some more meaning and more details now.
One of the major differences between Idyll's End and Mindfields is the story behind it. Where Mindfields was just an experiment, I tried to give this a story/meaning. To work this story out, I added some stock pictures from Corbis.com . I realy like how this turned out...

The Inspiration

This piece means alot to me. It is inspired by the movie and especially the soundtrack of The Last Samurai . This music is some of the best audio I've heared in a very long time, full of emotion.

Final Words

This piece was made for Oxygenetic's 3th pack. I realy, realy hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoy it... Oh and before I forget, Tuesday is my birthday and I wanted to release it then, but I couldnt wait. So see this as if it is somt kind of birthday present from me to you all.

that bird makes all the difference. We now understand the clash of cultures, the concept you are trying to portray.
well, i do at least.
By having that bird there, i can see the quiet peace of nature and how it is to be affected by the war. Great compositional choices made!

Realy cool piece of art. The texture of that "Cloud" thingy is realy cool and the details in the deviation is realy high. ( Love that eagle) . The only thing I could have wished for was to see a little more of the landscape but then again. It IS foggy. Hope to see more greatpics from you but for now. This is a certain fav

leave it to exhale to dish out the best stuff.

This piece i like a lot, a bit better than some of your Chronicle pieces, i agree that the top right is a bit too dark, and not too much is going on but the bottom is great, the addition of the tree line and the bird really makes the image, look like its a real place somewhere off in the world.....beautiful.

I love how all of your recent pieces have stories behind them, and they're not just renders with some flashy brushing over them. They've so much depth, and they're their own little scenes. Amazing work.

AMAZING!!!
Tx for the present

On the piece:
I love the brushing in this one, it's so clean and detailed, and yet, it gives me a grungy feeling, can't explain.
The idea of using a stock pic is great, looks really neat and fits well into the concept.
for sure!

i like the departure into change for you, as the artist. both with your descriptions and the inclusion (a first for you i think) of including to such a degree the natural world. bringing your 'creations' into the world that we can identify with is a drastic new dimension to see them in; scale, power, energy.. all are overhalued.
i feel like ducking down as i look at this, its all coming crashing down, and there is nowhere to run, nothing to do but watch the awesome destruction and hope that from the barren wastleland, new life will arise.
i am reminded of aldous huxley's 'brave new world' and greg bear's 'forge of god'.
beautifully emotive, brave choice to use one tonality to the scene but it has paid off in giving the allusion over an overwhelming, horizon-to-horizon event, the whimsical inclusion of the bird flying speaks a thousand different things to me.

wonderful.

I love how the large dark mass is perched so loomingly over the landscape, and how you chose more of a sunset, it's kind of a cool way of playing off a metaphor, the end of the day and the planet. It's clear that the planet was inspired by the Last Samurai's music - and it looks great. The eagle is an excellent addition. I could go on for ages about this - I love it! for sure.

Very nice piece, I'm liking the brushing a lot. The only problem with this piece is that you can't see where the upper explosion is coming from, that's I think because
it's very dark. I like it a lot though keep em coming m8 !
