Wonderful illustrations of the anteater family! The two tamanduas and the giant anteater in the upper right-hand corner (with the very very very long tongue) are my favorites. I also love the nature journal feel to it - keep up the good work.
Anteaters rock!

Also, on the plains where they live, there isn't much shade. So when they rest, they often cover themselves with the tail to keep out of the sun. They sleep alot, because termites as food doesn't provide a huge amount of energy.

Maybe it's to give predators a chance to miss its body, while it's got its head stuck down an anthole. Counterbalance is also possible.
I like the prehensile-tailed ones.

At a guess, I bet the tail counter-ballances the thing's big long head. Though it seems like it would be doing fine without out it, what with the stumpy legs.... Probably it was just the government trying to fuck with our heads again.

Department of Weird Animals. Probably the same people in charge of the echidna. (Hedgehogs laying eggs? WTF mate!)
