Description
Lighthuggers are a specialized type of starship designed to achieve FTL flight with standard fusion drive (as opposed to the inter-dimensional drives, or IDDs, used by most starships). To this end, a considerable part of the vessel is devoted to several massive custom-designed engines, and the bow features heavy armour and one or more anti-debris particle weapons.

This particular lighthugger is an older ship, but its captain is one of the best in the business. The "Unnamed Frontier" has been kept up-to-date with a series of expensive retrofits paid for by winning races - which is pretty much the only thing lighthuggers are used for, given that IDDs provide much faster travel.
