Description In the Cybermisfit 'verse  it's not extremely difficult to get a gun (legally or illegally), but odds are good that it is some form of pistol with absolutely no penetrating power. During the Migration, the majority of mankind either lived in a ship, space station, or sealed biodome (on worlds without breathable atmosphere), or had at least spent large portions of their lives there. Under such conditions, guns that CAN penetrate the hull and guns that could NOT kill everyone in the room via hull breach were differentiated for practical reasons. While some (many?) people may care little for the law or authorities, they care for explosive decompression even less. Even now that a much larger portion of humans no longer live in sealed environments the division between weak and powerful ranged weapons remains.

As industrial espionage became more and more commonplace on Earth, corporations put increasing pressure upon the Terran Protectorate to allow them to protect themselves, because it was far easier for well funded mercenaries or criminals to obtain bullet-stopping armor as opposed to armor-piercing bullets, making security difficult if not impossible. Eventually the government met them half way, establishing a government-run body of people who were authorized to use military grade weapons. They are a hybrid of law enforcement and military, having some of the authority and power of both but without the full experience and training for either. They are effectively "loaned" out from the government to large corporations, not individual citizens, and their job is solely to maintain security for whichever company they are assigned for.

Known as Corporate Security, or just CorpSec, they have limited ability to enforce the law as it relates to their jurisdiction, which is whatever corporation they are assigned to. They have the power to make arrests, but only if it directly involves crimes against the assets or wellbeing of a corporation. If somebody robs a small store, they have no more legal authority than a local police officer has in another country. If somebody robs a store belonging to the company they are assigned, they can detain or arrest that person. As they are only assigned when armed incursions are very likely (else the corporation could get by with normal security), their restrictions for using lethal force more resemble that of soldiers guarding against enemy combatants than a private citizen keeping out thieves.

Ostensibly non-partisan, they are employees of the government, not the corporation they are assigned. In theory, should the interest of the Terran Protectorate and their assigned corporation come into conflict, it is no contest where their loyalty lies. For a time that was true. In order to help offset the cost of equipment, it was eventually legalized for corporations to finance repairs, replacements, or upgrades. If they wanted their CorpSec members to have better armor, complex sensor suites, or bigger guns, they had to pay for it. However, this paved the way for for corporations to eventually be able to offer direct incentives to their security force. A luxurious home via "housing stipend." Physical enhancement of almost any kind, even just appearing more attractive - were for "enhancing job performance." Corporations couldn't pay CorpSec directly, but they could buy their non-partisan government serving security force just about anything they wanted.

Today, members of CorpSec are practically extensions of the corporation they guard. They know that they have the authority to do what they want with virtual impunity, and the more zealous they guard their corporation's interests the better rewarded they are. There is such a demand for them that recruiting standards are low and training almost non-existent. They are seen as bullies with badges and guns, and more often than not they live up to the stereotype.

A squad of Infinity CorpSec troopers. Four random people I made mostly so that I would have a picture to go along with the information on them. The man on the right is checking his wrist-mounted gun because he can't remember if he loaded it or not, though it is very hard to tell that the thing on his right forearm and wrist is a weapon. I only realized it when I looked at the surfaces on it and saw "gun" and "barrels." Behind him is a floating grey drone. It originally was much easier to see but I changed the camera angle at the last second and didn't notice that the floating flashlight bot had the median instead of the street behind it. Still, this turned out surprisingly well and easily rendered. This was pretty easy to make, with the exception of finding standing or walking poses for females that look like something an actual human being would do in real life. I'm not a woman, but I can't think of a time that I have ever seen a woman walk or stand in ANY of the poses that come with Daz Studio, outside of fictional media.

Daz Studio Pro 4.9 with iray render

Marauder for Genesis (Daz 3D) for their armor and 3 of the guns
The gun on the far left is from the Scifi Firearms Pack (Daz 3D)
I used poses from Ivy Summer's Hard to Find Everyday Pose Set and 3-D-C's Wristcomputer pose (freebies)
Little Light Robot is a freebie, I don't remember where I got it or who made it unfortunately
Background is GIS Skyway (Daz 3D)

I'm pretty torn on what to focus on next. I really want to use the Singers of Chzor pack, but I also want to advance the story with Trace and Reeka. Either way I need to introduce more setting information and characters before either storyline can proceed.

What do you guys think or want to see sooner, combat and horror in the Below (fav.me/da5kh4v ), or stuff with Trace (and possibly Reeka)? I'll get to both eventually, though right now I think that the Below has more story material available for me to use.

Pretty nice scene...
And I think the poses are VERY natural.

Thanks!
I take that as a double compliment, because the poses shown are the end result of using freebie poses I found on the internet AND hand adjusting every single one of them. All of them were poses for V4 or GF2 models. The men obviously needed adjustments because they were incorrect models, but even the female models needed both their spines partially straightened and the width between their feet increased, else it looked like they were tight rope walking.
