When it comes to painting with brushes, I still have a lot to learn. I'm more familiar with using palette knives and applying paint broadly.

No worries!I am no expert by far, but when it comes to painting I just start with broad washes of colour- the more the better, and then try to lay down the right shape and the right colour in the right place until it becomes more refined ( Pretty much like colouring in ). I struggled and failed by trying to learn different techniques and learning fancy brush effects. Cant recommend this guys work enough  www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hOYi6… , you can see what I mean by just laying down the blocks of colour!
