In actual plot, Vanhoe here doesn't lose an eye thhough I was actually trying to implement some traits of Big Boss onto him.Vanhoe and his true Keyblade; the Hawk Eyes.

Is he going to get tortured by a pretty boy named Ocelot and lose his eye then? No? Oh.
It would make sense that he'd train one eye over the other if he fills a sniper role, and an eyepatch is one way to go at it, indeed~

After hearing Ocelot mimicking that cat meow I'll never see him the same way again.
Not sure which eye snipers prefer to use when taking aim, though that idea of yours sounds good. Then I remembered there was Xigbar/Bigrax.

I would believe their prefered eye depends on which hand they hold their gun with.
