Description Thaal Sinestro of Korugar remains much the same in this Elseworld Universe.

Once revered and respected as one of the best Guardsman within the ranks of the Galactic Guardsmen Corps, he was corrupted by his power and exiled for crimes against his own people. Breaking his exile he sought to impose his own view of order and control onto the universe, employing as his primary weapon an anti-matter powered Power Core Armor in place of the Galactic Guardsmen Power Core Armor he was wore before being stripped of his status and position as a member of the Galactic Guardsmen Corps. His prowess and ruthlessness made him one of the most feared opponents to oppose the Guardians of the Universe and their Galactic Guardsmen Corps.

Sinestro was selected by the Guardians of the Universe to become a member of the Galactic Guardsmen Corps due to his seeming sense of honor and fearlessness. He was considered to be a model of effectiveness among the Guardsmen in part to the fact that Space Sector 1417of which he was the Guardsman of was almost entirely devoid of crime and lawlessness under his watch.  This however was achieved by way of his imposing his totalitarian doctrine upon the various civilized worlds in his sector. He primarily did so on his home world of Korugar where he overtime used his power and status as a Galactic Guardsman to eventually install himself as the planet’s singular voice of governing authority.  His actions were unwelcomed by the Korugarans, who secretly began to form a resistance movement in order to develop an organized plan to remove him from power.  Sinestro's totalitarian rule of Korugar was so total that the citizen’s came to believe that the Galactic Guardsmen Corps as a whole were  agents of terror and oppression.

As Sinestro became increasingly obsessed with keeping his sector as perfect and as ordered as he wanted it to be, he slowly started employing more questionable tactics in enforcing control and order.  He even began to see the Guardians and their methods of protecting the Universe as flawed now fully believing that his totalitarian doctrine to be the standard that should be employed by the Guardians and the Galactic Guardsmen Corps. It is eventually revealed in this alternate universe that Sinestro covertly manipulated the events that lead to a Weaponer of Qward attacking and mortally injuring Guardsman Prime Abin Sur (a fellow Korugaran and his former mentor in his early days as a Guardsman) in hopes that he would eventually be chosen to become the new Guardsmen Prime thus providing him a position within the Guardsmen Corps that would slowly allow him to transform the Galactic Guardsmen Corps into the totalitarian police force he wished it to be.

However after the death of Abin Sur, Sinestro was assigned the duty of training Abin Sur’s replacement as Galactic Guardsman of Space Sector 2814, Hal Jordan. Sinestro was disgusted by Jordan's brash and flippant personality as well as the off the cuff style he preferred to use when employing his Power Core abilities as he viewed them as the mark of a chaotic individual. As much as he didn't want to, Sinestro took on the task of showing the new Guardsman the basics of wielding his Power Core abilities. During the training of Jordan, Sinestro had to return to his sector and was reluctantly forced to bring Jordan along with him.

On Korugar Sinestro is forced to contend with an attempted invasion by the warlike Khund as well as the resistance movement that has secretly grown over the years during his extended absences from the planet lead by a very disciplined woman named Katma Tui.  Hal Jordan came to realize the full extent of how Sinestro was able to maintain such an ordered sector and covertly called for help from the Galactic Guardsmen Corps as Sinestro, enraged at the fact that his fellow Korugarans would resist his efforts to maintain order on Korugar as well as the Khunds daring to invade his home, unleashed his Power Core abilities to strike back at both his people and the Khund invasion force.   A small contingent of Guardsmen arrive on Korugar to help deal with the Khunds and take Sinestro into custody to be taken to Oa, where he was put on trial for crimes against his sector.  With testimony from individuals such as Katma Tui and Hal Jordan, the Guardians found Sinestro guilty of the crimes he had been charged and he was stripped of his rank as well as his Power Core Badge and banished into the Anti-Matter world of Qward, since at the Guardians did not allow a Death Sentence.

However due to their mutual hatred of the Guardians, Sinestro and the Weaponers of Qward became allies, with the Weaponers creating an anti-matter version of Guardsmen Power Core Armor for Sinestro to help him gain revenge on the Guardians and the Corps.  Over the years Sinestro would plan and undertake a series of cunning schemes to destroy his former teammates. He often took on these endeavors by himself, but when necessary utilized the skills/abilities of the Weaponers or other powerful beings whom he believed could help him achieve his goals of destroying the Guardians and the Corps as well as bring his vision of order to the universe.   Sinestro’s schemes against his former comrades always ended in defeated primarily due to the actions of Hal Jordan, whose unorthodox methods always seem to be the perfect foil against Sinestro’s structured methods.

Sinestro's quest to bring control and order to the universe would come to an end in what would turn out to be his final conflict with the Guardians and Galactic Guardsmen Corps. Sinestro had gained control and leadership over the original android enforcers used by the Guardians of the Universe, known as the Manhunters and had transformed them into his personal “Anti-Guardsmen Corps” army seeking to wipe out the Guardians and the Guardsmen Corps once and for all, following which Sinestro and the Manhunters would finally proceed with undertaking his desire to enforce his vision of control over the universe.  After a long fought battle which saw heavy losses on both sides of the opposing armies, Sinestro and the Manhunters were defeated.  Sinestro however attempts a last ditch suicide gambit to destroy the Guardians and the Corps by overloading his Qwardian created anti-matter Power Armor and the power cores of the Manhunters in order to kill the surviving Guardians and Guardsmen Corp members.  His long standing foe Hal Jordan would sacrifice himself to prevent Sinestro from destroying the Guardians and his fellow Corpsmen by using the full limits of his Power Core abilities to create an all encompassing energy shield to contain the initiated anti-matter explosion resulting in his death along with that of Sinestro and the remaining Manhunter forces.

Sinestro’s agenda of destroying the Guardians of the Universe and the Galactic Guardsmen Corps still remains in the form of Amon Sur, the son of the late Abin Sur, whom Sinestro was able to use his own hatred for the Guardians and the Corp to turn him into a weapon to achieve his goals.
