Tweaked Supergirl's design for my Elseworld Universe.

The origin and history of Supergirl in this Elseworld Universe closely follows that of the Superman: The Animated Series version of the character.

Kara-Zur is the only survivor of the Kryptonian moon colony of Argo which also fell in the wake of Krypton's destruction. With the shockwaves from Krypton's explosion wrecking havoc upon Argo, the survivors of the initial destructive aftershocks sought shelter from the devastation by placing themselves in emergency suspend animation stasis pods to hopefully be found and awaken once the crisis was over.

Some two plus decades later, Superman using the once mentally implanted Kryptonian technical knowledge within his mind, builds a larger modified version of the vessel which brought him to Earth and returns to the Kryptonian sector of the galaxy in order to learn more about his place of birth. The sensors on Superman's vessel pick the remnants of the civilization that once thrived on the now lifeless moon of Argo and out of curiosity he goes there to check it out.

Upon landing on Argo his ship sensor then pick up low level power emanations from one of the stasis shelters that the inhabitants took refuge in and discovers the only still functioning stasis pod containing the teenager Kara-Zur. Superman returns to Earth with the young female and after spending months in the Fortress of Solitude becoming educated about Earth, she goes to live on the Kent Farm to adjust to her new life and home on Earth.

She adapts the name of Kara Star and the cover background of being a distant cousin to Clark Kent. Kara eventually begins to develop abilities like Kal-El and as he did decides she will use her abilities in serves to protect her new home. She has a costume designed in the same theme as Superman and dubs herself Supergirl. Like Clark Kent, Kara Star wears a watch with Kryptonian technology that rearranges any attire she wears on a molecular level into her Supergirl costume and returns it to normal when she wishes to resume her Kara Star identity.

Kara's watch also allows for the altering of her hair color/style between her Supergirl and Kara Star personas in order to protect her dual identity.
