Personality: Having lived most of her life as a solitary Gryph in a massive desert, at times, Jo Bassa wouldn't mind returning to that lonely existence. That isn't to say she isn't loyally bonded to her rider, who won her respect through the fearless compassion shown to her when she was injured -- Jo simply has little tolerance for activites and other Stryx she has no interest in. She's more like to be simply dismissive and uncooperative with anyone or anything that she considers a waste of time, but if Jo feels herself being pushed (and Galyx help anyone who disturbs her peace), this Gryph knows full well how to use her size to make her point very clear. She does not revel in cruelty, but neither is she especially forgiving. She likes being intimidating if it means being left to her own devices.

All that having been said, Jo Bassa does have a surprising maternal streak. She is a proud and protective mother, never quite losing affection for her offspring even after they've long since left the nest, and she's even been known to take other Stryx she finds cute enough to dote on under her wing, literally. It's hard to say why she does this, except that maybe she doesn't like being alone too much after all...! Although, it'd be a little more endearing if she didn't become so possessive of her children, adopted or otherwise.
