Is the Metra Loco an F40PH type?
And if it has a headΒ marker light why is it switched off rather than on like the lower side marker lights?
Also, do the roof mounted beacon lights serve as a warning in poor visibility?

It is an F40PHM-2 a later variant of an F40PH. Also called a "Winnebago" .It is in push mode so the red marker lights are on. The beacon and light package is always used when the loco is leading for extra visibility.

Do they oscillate like the top headlamp?

I couldn't believe a headroom move that far out! Crazy!

I know, the Dash 9s pulled up right in front me...then reversed...longest headroom move I can recall, the whole length of Berwyn! The poor Metra was stuck for 10 minutes at least! I shot the whole sequence.
