I've only seen 1 SD45 in my life. It was on the UP Milwaukee Sub.

It's a shame they took the gyro and oscillating lights out of her. I'll never forget the first time I saw a SP unit at night with the full light package. I was wondering why I'm seeing a lead locomotive with the top lights swirling around, the regular nose headlights, no ditch lights, and I can make out the mars light. Once it got closer and I saw it was a SP unit, I was thinking that more engines need that cool and full light package.
Once I have my own house, I am going to build a model railroad. All the engines will be steam engines, and classic EMD units in the SP, CN&W, Conrail, Chessie System, Sante Fe and BN paint schemes.

I recall a similar experience around 1986.

Either rebuilt as an SD-40-3 or something silly; or the scrapyard...
