I also wanted to draw this because the hair and make up wasΒ reminiscent of 1940s hair styles and makeup, and I've always liked styles from that era (as well as the 1950s and the 20s)

Yep, me too! I think in another life I must have been here in the 30's and 40's. Love the hair styles and clothing and would wear almost all of them today, and feel quite comfortable.
Clothing styles may come and go, but it seem they always go back to taking something from the 40's.
