Description This trio of plow horses seemed full of energy and excitement at the prospect of plowing! Big guys, (or girls... I didn't notice)!

The most beautiful horses in the world are draft horses - so much power!

I like how they're all "at attention" it's hard to get all the horses to have their ears pricked in a single shot!

These horses just remind me of the finnhorse so much But not the least these photos are great! You've had a good chance to do some photography with the horses How was the assisting of the rodeo photographer by the way?

It went well but unfortunately there haven't been too many shows lately. The plow days was something I did on my own... since my friend has 4 Haflingers I went to take pictures for him and ended up getting lots of shots of lots of other draft horses as well. Good training for me. I goggled Finnhorses and find the breed interesting. The Haflinger is actually a very gentle and strong horse as well. But, they are quite a bit smaller than many of the horses I saw at plow days... it was a fun day. Thanks for your comment!

You should definitely meet a finnhorse, they are considered as "heavy warmbloods" or "light workhorses". The finnhorse is a protected breed, they've played a huge part in all of the finnish wars, they are calm, hard working, strong yet agile, smart, loyal and very friendly horses. It's been said that the finnhorse is a great all-around horse, they can do heavy work as well as "normal" riding, western, horse treking and even jumping! It's also the other "legal" racehorse breed in Finland A finn is not a finn without the finnhorse in heart. There used to be a finnhorse in every farm some decades ago! Try wikipedia for some more info
