Description RP-3D-90-LO, 153443 assigned to VXN-8, based at NAS Patuxent River seen at an airshow at Fargo MAP, ND in June 1986.

This aircraft was assigned to "Project Seascan"

This was originally buitlt as a P-3B and served as the prototype P-3C airframe.

I think this one is on a Superscale 1/72 decal sheet for any modelers

I remember this plane.  I lived at Pax River in the 70's.  Was also assigned to Project Magnet along with two C-121's.  Very cool to see this again.

My scan is washed out, but it says "Project Magnet" on the tail.  It was a pretty airplane!

Road Runner and TAZ were the two C-121B's also assigned to that program.  The whole group were an awesome set of planes.  I was only twelve when my Dad was stationed a Pax River.
