Of course, The Navy/Marine Corps version of the term RTU is "RAG" for "Replacement Air Group"... although these days the official term is FRS (Fleet Replacement Squadron)... but everyone still says RAG.....

Yeah, I got AF and USN terminalogy mixed up...
The RAGs used to actually assigned in an "Air Wing" status back in the day. Replacement Training Carrier Air Wing Four (RCVW-4) was the esat coast wing and was assigned the "AD" tail code. RCVW-12 was the west coast wing assigned the "NJ" tail code. These units were disestablished in 1970.
Should I rename the tomcat pic to "FRS Tomcat at El Centro"?

It's your work, so it's up to you... if you were to use the Navy term, "RAG" would be be my preference... since we're on the subject, The title of the F-5 from VF-126 posted before this... I'd prefer the Navy Term "adversary," because I'm kinda OCD about details like that... but like I said, it's your prerogative.

Love those Tomcats. The Blue Angels in the backround aren't too bad either!

They were a treat for me to see the F-18's. This was the debut year for the Blue Angels in Hornets.

Too cool. I have yet to see them in person. Seems i am either too late like for Fleet Week in San Diego (ran to the waterfront as soon as i could from the airport, missed the show though) Or i only make it to the Chicago Air and Water Show when it's the Thunderbirds performing. They put on a great show, but it's my lifelong goal to catch the Angels!

Keep checking out the BA's schedule [link] . I am sure you will be able to catch one. They are fun to watch. On another note, if you have the opportunity, check out the CAF "Snowbirds" as well.

Looks like the angels will be at the air and water show this year, might have to make the trek to the lakefront. Unfortunately the Snowbirds aren't going to be anywhere nearby this year. The municipal airfield near my house usually has a small airshow every year though, hopefully the Lima Limas will be there again!
