Description F-16D-32-CF, 84-1370 seen at Luke AFB in April 1986 prior to the ferry flight to deliver the jet to the ROKAF.

Note the full colored star that was carried on the left side of the jet and on the top wing.  The 'ROKAF' titles were over sprayed on the vertical fin above the SN and on the other roundels on the aircraft for the ferry flight.

The light grey camouflage looked really nice on this jet!

All aircraft delivery movements were under the auspices of the 8th Tactical Deployment Control Squadron.

I also believe this flight of two aircraft were the first F-16s delivered to the ROKAF.

That bird, she is doing just fine. Spent some time with that bird in last two years. She did went through some modifications though. The rear seat had some improvements. Very fine airplane. Bit glitchy but she is a fine bird.

I was line mechanic at 19th FW. AKA Jungwon AFB. same bird. Discharged last month because I completed my service with ROKAF.
Thanks for the cool picture. Miss that bird a lot. First F-16 delivered to Korea as PB Peace Bridge program and it went through upgrade so is PBU.

Very cool.  Nice to meet another F-16 maintainer on DA!

I sure had a good time in my two tours to the ROK!

Oh cool! Where did you station at? Kunsan? Daegu?
Before I left ROKAF, the F-16 Wolfpacks from Kunsan paid a visit on my base.
Couldn't get close but I could see the Wolfpack emblems on their v stabs.
Now, I'm back to USA to study my pilot career.
Two years in ROKAF was unforgettable experience and it was my first time fixing planes and getting airframe technician license.
So, I can proudly say I'm both pilot and mechanic.

I was at Osan as a crew chief in 1988/ 1989 and Kunsan as a QA inspector in 1994/ 1995.

I am attending classes at ERAU as well.  In my job I visit both the Prescott and Daytona campuses for my job.  I started flying when I was still in High School back in the late 1970s.  I tell people that flying today is no more expensive to me back in 1977 as it is today in 2017.  It still costs me everything I have...

I started my flight training back in 2012 at a small city near Mexican border called McAllen.
For me, it found really cheap and they got great instructors.
I'm going back to Prescott this August to jump in into pilot courses.
Let me know when you are in town.
We can go grab some lunch near downtown.
It is great to meet someone who worked in Airforce, specially who worked with first ROKAF F-16s.
Fly safe!

Nice to meet another F-16 maintainer and pilot.  I only fly GA stuff, but I sure enjoy it.  What is nice about piston acft is that I can work on an acft and then take it out flying for a thorough post MX check.  This is not pussible in the jet world!

For a Nordic/Scandinavian man like me, "sir" is a bit of a insult (strange, I know), since it implies (right or wrong) that one of us is better than the other. My few American friends didn't get this reasoning...
(This is more of a illustration of us strange Nordic/Scandinavian men, then an actual complaint)

- How does the salute work in USAF? In Swedish Army, I was suppose to salute anyone I worked directly with and anyone above major. So if I meet a captain in a hallway I ignored him unless he worked with me (now I know air forces around the world is a bit more relaxed when it comes to discipline).
- What NATO code did your last rank have, if you don't mind me asking? OR/OF # anat...

Social mores are always interesting. No offence intended.

For a military salute there are a few scenarios.  If we are walking down a street and meet a higher ranking officer, you basically salute simultaneously.

When 'reporting' to a senior officer, the junior initiates the salute and holds it until the senior ranking person acknowledges the salute and drops his.

This static.e-publishing.af.mil/pro… may be some good bedtime reading.  This is what you are tested on (Enlisted) to move up in rank.

I used to have to study this for promotion testing. We also had to test on a five volume series of 'career development course' books on our career field.  It was called WAPS testing.
